An account of the resource
ENOSBURG FALLS – Anna Lovony (Thompson) White, age 93, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the St. Albans Heath and Rehab Center.
Anna was born on May 16, 1927 in Franklin, Vermont, the daughter of Justin Thompson and Lillian Reynolds Thompson. She married Robert "Bob" White, the love of her life and lifelong partner. They shared many happy years of marriage.
Anna enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, gardening, baking cookies, and treating everyone as family. Anna also enjoyed camping with her grandchildren and fishing.
She also enjoyed plaster molding, knitting, and sitting on the porch watching people. During Christmas, for many years Anna would knit many mittens and hats and bake ice cream pails of cookies to give away as presents; she spent many hours doing this. We may not have fully appreciated them then, but now they are very fond memories.
As a teenager, Anna went around with a local nurse to family's houses and was taught then to wash wounds with concentrated Lysol (brown bottles) and water. From this experience, Anna treated many of her family wounds with washing them in this way and yes, it did sting.
Anna was incredibly loving and never missed a birthday, she was quick with a smile and one never left without a hug. Her family and friends will always remember her as a warm person, no time was ever enough with Anna. She enjoyed making those around her smile and at times had a mischievous sense of humor. Anna's warmth and stories will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Farrell White and her son John White; along with her siblings James Thompson, Eunice Hance, Florence Hakey, Bertha Jacobs and Gordon Thompson. Also, her son in law Andy Benoit.
Anna is survived by her two daughters, Robin Gilpin, her husband Matthew Gilpin and Polly White Benoit. She is also survived by her daughter in-law Lorna White and Anna's brother Bill Thompson of Swanton. Anna also has many grandchildren: Connie Nolan and her spouse Bobby Nolan, Tonya Roberts and her husband Will Roberts, Anna Vogel and her husband Tracy Vogel, Laurieann White, Paul White, Dennis White and wife Winnie White, Adam Gilpin, Bobbie Parent and husband Chris Parent, Matthew J. Gilpin and fiancé Tammie Hendrix, Jessica Gilpin, Kimberly Gilpin and fiancé Chris Alger, Jasmine Tessier and husband Cory Tessier. Anna is survived by many special great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
It was Anna's wish for no wake, service details will be scheduled at a later time. The family would like to thank the all nurses who attended with Anna during her time at the facility.
The family would also like to thank her nephew, Ricky Thompson, who watched over and spent time with his Aunt Annie during her time at the Facility.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Anna's honor to Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Cir # 1, St Albans City, VT 05478.
