State's vaccine registration portal
This is what the state's vaccine registration portal looked like on March, 25, 2021, when registration was opened up for people 60 years old and older. Users were supposed to be able to click on the blue box at the top that said "schedule vaccine appointment." Unfortunately, the button took users to a page to schedule tests, and many inadvertently did that. After about 45 minutes, the link was corrected and it took users to the proper page, which is the second image shown here.
MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Glitches in the state health department’s vaccine registration site frustrated many Vermonters Thursday morning.
Vermonters 60 and older could start signing up to receive the COVID-19 vaccine Thursday morning. But many who tried in the first 45 minutes of the website coming online couldn’t register for vaccines, only tests.
State leaders say they mistakenly tested the website Tuesday night using incorrect settings, meaning Vermonters 60 and older couldn’t sign up for vaccines, only tests.
“The whole thing took about 45 minutes, it’s unfortunate. But fortunately, it was a human error instead of a systems error; our systems have been working very well for us,” said John Quinn, the secretary of the Agency of Digital Services.
