Description

Robert Poulin, age 80, of Colchester, VT passed away on March 22, 2020 at Burlington Health & Rehab after a short illness and failing health. Bob was pre-deceased by his wife, Barbara (Bissonnette) Poulin on April 13, 2012, and by his parents, Louis and Leona (Mongeon) Poulin. Bob was a former owner of Home Plate Baseball Cards as well as being a self-employed roofing and siding contractor for many years.

Bob was born in Burlington, VT on July 12, 1939, the son and only child of Sylvester and Leona Poulin. His early years of work involved working at Gracey’s Store on Williston Road in South Burlington. He graduated from South Burlington High School. Bob was a former member of the VT Air National Guard. Bob was also a proud and honorary member of the St John Paul II Council of the Knights of Columbus in Milton. He married Barbara Bissonnette on November 7, 1964. He established his roofing and siding business with his brother-in-law, John Bissonnette. Many homes and businesses in the Chittenden and Franklin County areas were improved by their quality workmanship. After Barb’s passing, Bob enjoyed living at Holy Cross Senior Housing on Church Road in Colchester.

Bob is survived by several nieces and nephews and extended family, as well as his “adopted sons” Jeff, Randy, and Nick,a special niece, Deb Cooke and her husband Rich of Carson City, Nevada, a cousin Doreen Couture and her husband Jim, Vicky Ready, a special friend of over 60 years, Jeff Francis of Main Street Sports Cards in Winooski, and all of his sport cards trading partners. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Ann Bissonnette, his brother knights in the Knights of Columbus, and his good friend, Peter Lavallee. Besides his parents and his wife, Bob was predeceased by brother-in-law John Bissonnette as well as a sister-in-law, Terry Burbo.

Bob made many friends over the years in the Knights of Columbus, and at Holy Cross Senior Housing. Special thanks go out to the care that he received at the UVM Medical Center and at the Burlington Health & Rehab. A Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be scheduled at a later date. Interment will be at Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington. Arrangements have been entrusted to AW Rich Funeral Home.
