Title
Anita M. Haskins, 89, Burlington
Description
It is with great sadness that the family of Anita M. Haskins, 89, announces her recent passing. She was predeceased by her mother Aleata Lambert, her father Clement Smith, her husband Paul Haskins and her son William (Nancy) Vassiliades. Anita is survived by her four cherished daughters, Althea Vassiliades, Aleata (Michael) Serenka, Wilhelmenia Kirk and Philamenia Haskins; adored grandchildren Nicholas (Haley) Reynolds, Erica (Goodwin) Moy, Robert (Rebecca) Kirk, Jonathan Vassiliades, Thomas and Allison; treasured great-grandchildren Owen Moy, Aiden Moy and Tallinn Kirk. She is also survived by her many cousins on the Roberts' side of the family and her niece and nephews on the Haskins' side of the family.
Her children were never surprised to find their mother singing along to the music and dancing around the kitchen or living room with their Dad. Anita and Paul would have given Fred and Ginger a run for their money. It was always game night at the Haskins house, with countless games of Monopoly, Yahtzee, Trouble and poker played. Yes, we were taught how to play penny-ante poker at a young age.
Anita loved flowers, marigolds and snapdragons were two of her favorite varieties. Their front yard was always a colorful site when driving past their home. While living in Grand Isle, Anita and Paul were avid gardeners and maintained multiple flower beds. Flowers remind us that a life-well lived leaves behind seeds that keep on growing. Anita's stories, her values and her love of family will live on in all of us. What a beautiful legacy.
Later in 2021, when it is safe to travel and gather, a celebration of her life and a memorial service will be held.
