Westford – Frena Genevieve (Webb) Phillips, 87, died peacefully on Saturday December 5, 2020 at the St. Albans Health and Rehab. in St. Albans.

Frena was born on February 15, 1933 in St. Albans, the daughter of Samuel and Bertha (Brookes) Webb.

She graduated from BFA Fairfax in 1951 and the Burlington Business College.

On November 8, 1952, she married William “Bill” Phillips in the United Church of Fairfax. They were married for 59 years.

On October 1, 1956, Frena and Bill moved to Westford and purchased the Chet Hall place, where she and Bill raised their family and now lived.

Frena had worked as a secretary to the Principal for the Westford Elementary School.
She then began work for the town of Westford, becoming assistant town clerk, then Town Clerk, working there for 28 years before retiring. Following her retirement, she worked for the Mathieu Bus Company in Westford.

Frena enjoyed going to lunch with the girls, having coffee with Jr. in the morning and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She never forgot an anniversary or birthday.
She always looked forward to gardening and canning in the fall and helping out when the family was sugaring.
Whenever somebody needed anything, she was always there to help.

She is survived by her sons Charles Phillips and his wife France and Scot Phillips and his wife Kimberlee, all of Westford. By her grandchildren Jeremy and Jessica Phillips and their sons Dustin and Charles "Charlie", all of Georgia, Todd and Lindsay Phillips and their children Grayson and Madelyn, all of Fairfax, Shane Phillips and Talia Bushey and their son Gavin and one on the way, all of Essex, Krystle Phillips of Milton, Megan Phillips and Melissa Wood of St. Albans, Jennifer and Eric Harper and their sons Owen and Hayden, all of Westford and William and Erin Phillips and their daughter Natalie, all of Westford and by several nieces and nephews.

Frena was predeceased by her husband Bill on May 9, 2012, her son Allen Phillips on April 15, 2014, a sister Ivy Ovitt and her brothers J. Douglas Webb and William Webb.

Frena’s family would like to thank Jr. Drinkwine who was a very special family friend who checked in daily on Frena and Bill and was always there for them and was thought of as a part of their family.

Due to COVID, the family has chosen to have a private graveside service at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Westford.

A Celebration of her life will be held in the summer of 2021 when it is safer to gather as a group.
