COVID Verses
I
I am livid
that my friend
has caught COVID.
Is this his end?
II
Did we get it,
Covid-19?
Let’s quarantine,
wash our hands well,
keep our distance,
check for fever.
Phew, it’s a cold
Do not panic.
We may not die.
No, not just yet.
III
Millions died
the world over:
like Spanish flu,
this one, too, kills,
especially
when our leaders
are greedy hacks,
who do not care
for our welfare,
just their own skin
and pocketbooks.
