Title

Vaccination effort at Chelsea Flea Market

Description

he annual Chelsea Flea Market returned for 2021. Both commons were crowded with booths and shoppers, with very few people wearing masks on a hot, sunny day (see previous slide). Representatives from the Vermont Department of Health had a COVID-19 vaccination booth set up next to the Chelsea Public Library. Health department workers strolled through the crowds with a sign written in several languages to call attention to the booth. By mid-afternoon, health department workers said they have given a few vaccines, but not many. Making the vaccine available where people were already gathering is part of the state’s strategy to reduce barriers and make the vaccine readily available to everyone who is eligible.
